In the Summer of 2025, the Isle of Man Constabulary partnered with Hospice's Admiral Nurses, the Forget-Me-Not Charity, and Lumiio on a collaborative dementia safeguarding scheme to launch the Herbert Protocol in the area. Funded by the Forget Me Not Charity, Lumiio provided 1,000 co-branded, NFC and QR enabled wristbands and fobs.
The Herbert Protocol is a form containing all necessary information needed to help locate and identify a missing individual with dementia. Isle of Man Constabulary launched this scheme but added our smart safeguarding products to further streamline the process of finding, identifying, and providing personalised support for those living with dementia.
After requesting a Herbert Protocol form to fill out, individuals were provided with one of our wearable IDs in traditional dementia yellow. By combining these two crucial support systems, the estimated 1,800 individuals living with dementia on the Isle of Man are that bit safer.
